FAQs

  • What can you donate?
Any second-hand stuff that you no longer need. It could be clothes, shoes, accessories, linen, carpets, curtains, utensils, plastic containers, crockery, books, toys, musical instruments, furniture, home decor items, DVDs, CDs, computers, computer games, appliances, electronic items........anything.
  • Can corporates or schools also chip in?
Most certainly. We welcome donations in kind from any source.
  • Do you donate these items directly to charity?
No. We have a sale where these items are sold at heavily discounted rates to enable economically underprivileged people to purchase them. The money earned from this sale goes to a charity.
  • Do you select the organization to which the money goes to?
No. Since it is you who have donated the goods, the privilege and honour of selecting the cause you would like to sponsor, as well as the specific non-governmental organization (NGO), rests with you.
  • From where do I make my selection of NGOs?
We have tied up with Give India Foundation. They track NGOs operating for various causes: education, disabled, children, elderly, women, youth, employment, environment, health and human rights. You can select the field and within it, narrow down on a choice.
  • How do I know that a particular NGO is a good one?
Give India Foundation has done a sanity check on a number of reliable NGOs operating in various fields. The organizations listed are doing impressive work. They maintain financially transparent records and audited accounts and have been scrutinized for transparency and credibility.
  • What if the NGO of my preference is not listed on Give India Foundation?
Then, by all means, we shall send the proceeds of the sale to the NGO of your choice. But we will have to ensure if that NGO is accredited.
  • How does the Toofles Foundation manage its overheads?
We retain 10% from the sale of items. The balance 90% reaches the organization you support.
